Agape Animal Rescue
Each year, millions of dogs and cats are turned over to animal shelters because their owners do not want them any more. We are proud to rescue a disproportionate number of dogs who would not get adopted from shelters, either due to breed, age or medical condition. In the meantime, however, the adoption paperwork can be processed. Getting your next pet through an animal shelter is a responsible way to get your next family member.
The ARL’s adoptions are first-come, first served, so if you wish to adopt an animal, you must be present at an ARL adoption location. If you cannot handle keeping your dog, it would better if you gave it to a shelter otherwise dog rescue groups will probably come to take it away from you.
We recommend (and sometimes require) that pets be introduced to children living in the home and that dogs be introduced to any resident canines before adoption. Krog states, “By helping animals and promoting their welfare, humans are also benefited – it has been established for some time that animal abuse is a clear indicator of violence towards humans.
The animal that you adopt will open up a space in our shelter to save another pet. Last Chance annually rescues and rehomes some 10,000 pets and since 1999, we’ve provided loving homes for more than 100,000 cats and dogs. DWB rescues stray and abandoned dogs from local shelters and as far away as Taiwan and Mexico.
Bounce Animal Rescue
Last Chance Animal Rescue operates in Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Most of the animals are adopted out of foster homes. That fee will be reduced by $50 for dogs and $40 for cats if the dog or cat was already sterilized before arriving at our animal care center. The Director of Animal Welfare program was part of her proposal to make Los Angeles a No-Kill City.
We provide service to all unincorporated (non-city) areas of Los Angeles County as well as to a number of contracted cities. When you become a foster for BARCS, you are giving a second chance to an animal who needs temporary relief from the shelter as they heal from injury or illness.
Each adoption fee helps us save another dog in need and ensures we can keep making a difference in the lives of shelter dogs for years to come. While in rescue, our dogs live in foster homes where they receive food, warm beds, toys and love from their foster families, including valuable socialization, crate training and house training.
Pet adoptions are a wonderful thing. DWB is proud to have placed over 4000 dogs since its inception, and will continue to rescue thousands more with the support of generous donations, fosters, and volunteers. The animals we rescue are either transferred to local rescue groups or transported to emergency shelters for thorough examination by veterinarians in order to receive any necessary medical treatment they may require.
Get involved and help promote adoptable pets in your area. Because we rescue 70-100 animals each month out of a 4 kennel garage, we rely heavily on our fosters. It takes a village to provide everything needed for the 50 dogs at the rescue, 15 more in foster care and the other animals on the farm.
Note: The Downey Animal Care Center does not provide service to the City of Downey. Our clinic is staffed by licensed veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and dedicated animal care specialists, plus all proceeds benefit the animals in need at our shelters. Most of the time, these pets are kept in private homes (foster homes) until they are adopted.
Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue
Detroit Dog Rescue is Detroit’s first and ONLY no-kill shelter. The ARL only adopts animals as family pets, not for consumption or research. Angels for Mistreated Animals (AMA) is a foster-based animal rescue organization founded in Brooklyn. If no one happens to come out to adopt within the allotted time frame, puppies become available first-come, first-served, like any of our other pets.
They depend on funds that are either privately donated, acquired from grants or through major organizations like SPCA International that seeks to develop and utilize a worldwide platform that both supports independent animal shelters and promotes the safety of animals.
Chatham Animal Rescue & Education
People leave their unwanted dogs and other pets on the roadside or fields or woods under the assumption that by instinct they will revert back to wild and survive; in reality this is not the case. This gives the animal time to be socialized with other pets, children and time to get used to living in a home. In 2015, over 6,000 cats and dogs were killed in city shelters simply because they did not have a safe place to call home. We do not hold animals, nor does the submission of the Pre-Adoption application entitle you to any particular animal.
The adoption fee does not include the dog or cat license fee, which must be paid, but varies depending on the City or area you live. Our goal is to find a forever home for each of our rescued animals. Mystic Aquarium’s Animal Rescue Clinic has been rescuing marine animals along 1,000 miles of the Northeastern coastline since 1975.
But then little Arthur got sick and the shelter he was fostered through couldn’t help him, so his foster mom was forced to leave him at the shelter and they asked for rescue.
