Animal Shelters

Animal Rescue
A 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to saving animals from kill shelters and euthanization. Whether you walk dogs, assist with off site adoption events, or administrative tasks, YOU can make a difference in the lives of our pups. Since our founding in May 2012, we have helped save more than 600 dogs in need of transfer, by finding them a shelter or rescue and giving them a second chance at the life they deserve.

Sometimes older pets can be better companions for older people as they need less training so looking for a pet in an animal shelter is a better option. Amandine is one of the co-founders of Care for Dogs. Everything from Staff Veterinarians to Animal Rescue Technicians are needed in most shelters on a regular basis.

DWB is proud to have placed over 4000 dogs since its inception, and will continue to rescue thousands more with the support of generous donations, fosters, and volunteers. The animals we rescue are either transferred to local rescue groups or transported to emergency shelters for thorough examination by veterinarians in order to receive any necessary medical treatment they may require.

All adoption services end 30 minutes before the ARL closes, so please plan to arrive at least one hour before closing if you plan to visit with the animals. Sarge’s original mission is to save animals from euthanasia in the Haywood County Animal Shelter, because when we started, more than 50 animals per week were being put down because of lack of space.

The reality is that Pit Bulls are being used successfully as search and rescue dogs and have rated higher in temperament tests than Golden Retrievers according to the American Temperament Testing Society’s statistics.” Additionally, Krog is working towards ensuring that a foster program is implemented by LAAS so that animals can be placed in a home or foster home while court cases are still pending.

Bonner Animal Rescue is a dedicated group of local residents who believe every pet deserves a forever home and the right to live free from neglect and abuse. Every member of the ARL team plays an important role in changing the lives of animals and the people who love them.

At a minimum, all of our rescue dogs receive vaccinations, monthly preventatives, microchip ID and spay or neuter surgery. If you are interested in adopting through one of the many animal shelters, it is easy to find one in your area.
