Pet adoptions are a wonderful thing. Many times, these animals live in horrid conditions and are starving and abused. Working with our partners at shelters in all the Bay Area and Central California counties, we identify and remove animals at risk of immediate euthanasia and facilitate their adoption into loving homes.
The organization not only saves lives of pets in New York and the surrounding areas, but all over the world. NOTE: Some rescue animals may have higher fees due to expenses incurred from out of state rescues, medical procedures, or other occurrences. Sometimes abused pets requiring special care are placed in such shelters.

A Look At Dog Rescue Groups
Second Chance Dog Rescue is one of San Diego’s largest and most successful non-profit 501c3 organizations dedicated to saving homeless dogs. Animal Rescue Konnection (ARK) bridges the gap between dogs in need and the organizations that can help them find new homes. All pets are welcome to the clinic, not just those adopted from our shelter. It is the responsibilityÂ of theÂ adopter to provide transportation to come and meet the animal of interest.
Since MARS does not have a shelter facility, all of our dogs need caring, committed and qualified people to house them and help them take the next steps in their lives. Their owners have relinquished many of the animals offered by rescue groups because they are moving or can no longer care for them.

Animal shelters offer you a great place to get your next family pet. Please note that in addition to making a payment using the Online Payment Service, payments to DACC can also be made by mail or in person. The role of the rescue groups is to take animals from shelters that would otherwise be euthanized due to lack of space or health issues, and find permanent and loving homes for these animals.
IF you find a pet offered through an animal shelter, you will be asked to sign a contract saying that you agree to care for the pet long term. Shelters and rescue groups do charge a fee, but it’s relatively inexpensive compared to the service they provide. When we first started our rescue, one of our goals was to make our adoption process an easy and enjoyable experience.
