Helping Los Angeles Communities And The Animals That Inhabit Them
If you are passionate about animals and want to help alleviate their suffering, you may have thought about starting your own rescue or sanctuary. Foster care volunteers provide temporary care for kittens, puppies, dogs and cats. We are 501c3 nonprofit and we are all volunteers so every penny goes to the care of the animals. With the economic downturn facing the United States, many people are losing their jobs and homes.
Not all foster animals attend every pet fair. If you have the time and energy to help save the lives of neglected animals, you may want to join in the animal rescue force. Other rescues use a system called a “foster” system which is similar to the idea of human foster care.
Having the animal’s health history at the time of adoption helps the animal find a permanent home. Each year, the Humane Society of the United States animal rescue team works with local agencies to rescue thousands of animals from puppy mills, animal fighting operations, natural disasters and other life-threatening situations.
It is expensive to rescue animals and provide them with the veterinary care, food and more that they need so that we can place them up for adoption. The adoption fee for a dog or puppy is about $125 and for a cat or kitten about $115. The Speranza mission to save the most abused and neglected animals would not be possible without the continuous donations and annual fundraising efforts.
Animal Services Centers
Animal shelters offer you a great place to get your next family pet. The ARL offers dog and cat behavior counseling to help adoptive pet parents, as well as the general public, better understand our pets. Orange County Animal Services is a progressive animal-welfare focused organization that enforces the Orange County Code to protect both citizens and animals.
Although mixed breeds are the most common type of animal you’ll find, pure breeds appear in shelters more than you might think. National Aquarium Animal Rescue depends on the generosity of volunteers to operate, but medical equipment, medications, and food for these animals is expensive.
We recommend (and sometimes require)Â that pets be introduced to children living in the home and that dogs be introduced to any resident canines before adoption. Krog states, “By helping animals and promoting their welfare, humans are also benefited – it has been established for some time that animal abuse is a clear indicator of violence towards humans.
Independent Animal Rescue
A 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to saving animals from kill shelters and euthanization. Every year, we rescue thousands of animals from puppy mills, animal fighting operations, natural disasters and other large-scale situations of cruelty and neglect. At International Animal Rescue we not only save animals from suffering, we also rehabilitate and release them back into the wild and work to protect their precious natural habitats.
