Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue

Animal Rescue
People leave their unwanted dogs and other pets on the roadside or fields or woods under the assumption that by instinct they will revert back to wild and survive; in reality this is not the case. While the Humane Society of the United States does not run or oversee local animal shelters or rescues, we do operate rescue teams, community-based programs and five wildlife sanctuaries and care centers that directly assist tens of thousands of animals each year.

No one wants to see dogs euthanized alone, without loving owners to memorialize them with pet urns or pet head stones, so these rescues are highly valued within the pet community. In addition, some of these groups take animals that live in kill shelters or as strays living on the streets.

Speranza takes on cases regardless of the medical costs associated and provides all of the top-notch veterinary care necessary and accepts dogs with behavioral issues that most rescue organizations won’t consider.

The animal that you adopt will open up a space in our shelter to save another pet. Last Chance annually rescues and rehomes some 10,000 pets and since 1999, we’ve provided loving homes for more than 100,000 cats and dogs. DWB rescues stray and abandoned dogs from local shelters and as far away as Taiwan and Mexico.

Animal Rescue
Detroit Dog Rescue is Detroit’s first and ONLY no-kill shelter. Each adoption fee helps us save another dog in need and ensures we can keep making a difference in the lives of shelter dogs for years to come. While in rescue, our dogs live in foster homes where they receive food, warm beds, toys and love from their foster families, including valuable socialization, crate training and house training.

Comprised of non-paid individuals committed to animal welfare, the Commission would serve in an advisory capacity to help cities and counties achieve the no-kill goal at their public shelters. Now that the Haywood County Animal Shelter has achieved no-kill status, it is our goal to make sure they are able to maintain that record.

Having the animal’s health history at the time of adoption helps the animal find a permanent home. Each year, the Humane Society of the United States animal rescue team works with local agencies to rescue thousands of animals from puppy mills, animal fighting operations, natural disasters and other life-threatening situations.
