Turtle Mountain Animal Rescue
Each year, millions of dogs and cats are turned over to animal shelters because their owners do not want them any more. Each volunteer is responsible for taking care of animals in his or her own home, and may also be instrumental in finding good homes for animals in their care. You can gain a lot of personal satisfaction by adopting your next pet through an animal rescue organization.
We also have a first-time subscriber special offer — we’ll vaccinate a shelter animal if you are new to our family of websites. Last year we rescued over 3,100 animals from immediate danger and distress, and our ambulances logged over 120,000 miles saving the innocent.
But then little Arthur got sick and the shelter he was fostered through couldn’t help him, so his foster mom was forced to leave him at the shelter and they asked for rescue. North Shore Animal League America has grown into the largest pet adoption agency due to its no-kill policy.
Note: The Downey Animal Care Center does not provide service to the City of Downey. Our clinic is staffed by licensed veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and dedicated animal care specialists, plus all proceeds benefit the animals in need at our shelters. Most of the time, these pets are kept in private homes (foster homes) until they are adopted.

Founding any animal rescue is not for the faint of heart. These animals have been examined by a veterinarian, are up to date with their shots, and many times come with a complete medical history. As more and more people are trying harder than ever just to survive, there are less people willing and able to foster and care for pets.
The ARL offers dog and cat behavior counseling to help adoptive pet parents, as well as the general public, better understand our pets. Orange County Animal Services is a progressive animal-welfare focused organization that enforces the Orange County Code to protect both citizens and animals.

DWB is proud to have placed over 4000 dogs since its inception, and will continue to rescue thousands more with the support of generous donations, fosters, and volunteers. The animals we rescue are either transferred to local rescue groups or transported to emergency shelters for thorough examination by veterinarians in order to receive any necessary medical treatment they may require.
Yet sadly, some organizations call themselves “shelters” when in fact they are actually hoarding animals or running pet shops for the purpose of turning a profit. Rather, we are a networking organization enabling us to save more dogs’ lives by collaborating with existing rescues and shelters.
Animal Services has hundreds of adoptable pets at any given time. Some rescues operate kennels, where they house the dogs until a permanent and loving home can be found.
